Luke Cage was one of the many Marvel properties flourishing on Netflix. It came a little after Jessica Jones and Daredevil and opened to mixed reviews. The second season, however, saw it get into gear. However, Netflix and Disney have now announced that Luke Cage will not be returning for a season 3 on the Big N.
This comes as a surprise, as the other Marvel property on Netflix, Daredevil is still up and running on Netflix. Critics are welcoming the series and saying that it’s the best Netflix web series ever. This also means that the beloved Missy Knight won’t be seen on Netflix, unless Netflix is planning on putting her in any of the other commissioned Marvel web series.
Some say that this is inevitable, with Disney, the company that now owns Marvel, is in the process of setting up a streaming channel of its own. In India, Disney has returned with the Disney Channel, showing that Disney is now once again interested in getting into he broadcast and streaming market.
